HDPE Liner
HDPE liner waterproofing (High-Density Polyethylene liner system) is a high-performance waterproofing solution that utilizes prefabricated HDPE geomembrane sheets to form a continuous, durable, and impermeable barrier against water, moisture, and chemical penetration. HDPE is a thermoplastic material known for its excellent tensile strength, flexibility, and long-term resistance to environmental degradation, making it suitable for critical containment and waterproofing applications.
The system is installed by placing HDPE sheets over a properly prepared substrate and joining them through heat welding techniques to create fully sealed, homogeneous joints. This ensures a watertight lining with high integrity and minimal risk of leakage. The liner can be used as a single waterproofing layer or as part of a composite system, depending on design requirements, and is capable of withstanding soil pressure, hydrostatic pressure, and mechanical stress.
HDPE liner waterproofing is widely used in demanding infrastructure and environmental projects such as landfills, water reservoirs, sewage treatment plants, tunnels, canals, basements, and industrial containment areas. Its superior chemical resistance, puncture resistance, and long service life make it a reliable solution for long-term waterproofing and containment needs in harsh operating conditions.
Application Procedure
Thoroughly inspect substrate condition and environmental factors including wind speed, humidity levels, and surface moisture content, ensuring all parameters comply strictly with manufacturer’s specifications before proceeding.
Apply a UV-resistant protective base coat over the cured foam to seal the surface and provide an immediate waterproof secondary shield.
Install a separation layer of non-woven geotextile followed by the formation of precise slopes using lightweight screed to ensure efficient water drainage.
Lay the protective concrete screed to specified gradients, providing a durable walking surface and mechanical protection for the underlying layers.
Detail all critical areas, including expansion joints and wall-to-floor junctions, with specialized sealants and cementitious coving to eliminate leak-prone corners
Apply the final, heavy-duty waterproof membrane over the finished screed and parapets for a complete, multi-layered customization of the roof’s defense system.
