Epoxy Flooring
Epoxy flooring waterproofing is a high-performance protective flooring system in which epoxy resin-based coatings are applied over prepared concrete substrates to create a seamless, dense, and impermeable surface. The system is designed to provide effective waterproofing by sealing the pores of concrete, preventing water penetration, dusting, and surface degradation while enhancing overall structural durability.
The application typically involves multiple layers, including primer, epoxy build coats, and topcoat, which chemically bond to the substrate to form a strong, monolithic flooring system. Depending on project requirements, the system can also be modified with fillers or aggregates to improve thickness, slip resistance, and mechanical strength. Once cured, epoxy flooring provides excellent adhesion, high compressive strength, and resistance to abrasion, impact, and a wide range of chemicals.
In addition to waterproofing performance, epoxy flooring offers a smooth, hygienic, and easy-to-clean surface, making it suitable for environments that demand cleanliness and durability. It is widely used in industrial facilities, warehouses, parking areas, commercial kitchens, laboratories, hospitals, and manufacturing units where both water resistance and heavy-duty performance are essential.
Application Procedure
Thoroughly inspect substrate condition and environmental factors including wind speed, humidity levels, and surface moisture content, ensuring all parameters comply strictly with manufacturer’s specifications before proceeding.
Precisely spray-apply the polyurethane foam in multiple passes to achieve the required thickness, creating a seamless, self-bonding insulation layer across the entire deck.
Apply a UV-resistant protective base coat over the cured foam to seal the surface and provide an immediate waterproof secondary shield.
Install a separation layer of non-woven geotextile followed by the formation of precise slopes using lightweight screed to ensure efficient water drainage.
Lay the protective concrete screed to specified gradients, providing a durable walking surface and mechanical protection for the underlying layers.
Detail all critical areas, including expansion joints and wall-to-floor junctions, with specialized sealants and cementitious coving to eliminate leak-prone corners
Apply the final, heavy-duty waterproof membrane over the finished screed and parapets for a complete, multi-layered customization of the roof’s defense system.
